A pre-review of The Sims 3

So I've looked at the previews. And the concept scares me intensely. The thing I like about the Sims 2 is that you can concentrate on one family, watch them grow up, get sick of them, and then return to an earlier family, or make another. With the Sims 3, reportedly, as one family grows up, as does the rest of the neighbourhood. Although this was presented as a perk with the game, I consider it to be ultimately a turn off. Plus, they got rid of 'environment' and 'comfort' moods, which I thought was a pretty dumb thing to do, as in real life, comfort and environment can play an important part in your overall mood.
And the detail! Yikes. With such advanced graphics (and still the Sims are ugly) I doubt the size of the game is anything less than 4 gigs... And the price anything less than £50/(about) $90.
Sure the game is closer to life. Sure the game should 'flow' better than TS2. Hopefully in TS3 the Sims won't keep dying off; two of my Sims on TS2 have already died of unknown causes. They were absolutely fine, moods all in the green, no illnesses, no fires or flies or anything else... and then, one got out of bed and just died, and the other (in another house) got up off the toilet and just died for no reason at all. Hopefully this won't happen in TS3.
As they aim for TS3 to be as close to real life as possible, I think they've gone TOO close to real life. You might as well live your own.
*gasp*

*gasp* live my own life?! I wouldn't be able to cope, unless real life is conducted with a mouse with simple options.
On alighter note, interesting prereview. Maybe one day when you come back out of the shadows you coudl do a afterreview and let the world no what you - the great Bobeth - thinks of it having played it.
