End of all hope!

:P

Yesterday was the GRAND competition. The GRAND ROBOTICS competition. Well, not so grand. But it was a robotics competition.

The robotics competition we'd been planning for so long. So long!

And you know what? We lost. I was quite surprised when I found that the other 'team' members were shocked about this. But we did get noticed, oh yes, because we were all dressed in bright magenta polo shirts. With a lovely label as stitched by Sarah Lothian, visit her homemade-clothing site now [/advertising], which stated our team name, "SUPERNOVA". But we aren't super, and we aren't stars. Most of the time we were all just fillying about, admittedly including me, but only because I had nothing to do, with only about 3 people working at a time. Out of around 20.

I managed to 'man the mat' at one point, i.e. I was in control of the robot for one of the competition rounds. Oddly enough, that was the round that we scored the most in. I think the scores were as follows (or something like it): 110, 165, 10. Yeah, that last score was CRAP. The girls in charge hadn't a bloody clue. I did offer to man the mat again for that round, but NOOOOOOO. Do I need to say we lost?

In fact, I have to say the most rewarding experience throughout the entire trip was as follows: Reviving my love of Nightwish. Sarah offered me an earpiece for her iPod on the trips there and back. Amongst the songs was at least one Nightwish song (honestly, I can't remember. I just remember the one). I have it HERE, so enjoy it, ratbags. It'll blow your minds out... Just make sure you turn the volume up high (but not all the way, because you'd go deaf). Anyone who hates this song is stupid, I have decided. So, good on Sarah! :D I likes Nightwish.

Oh, and about today... Amazingly I managed to miss registration, AND the first lesson. Wow, is that a record? Well, maybe for me. But the teacher for that lesson managed to run into me (not literally), and he didn't quite believe the following story:

OK, so I got up at a reasonable time. Reasonable, as in, it has never given me any lateness-related trouble before. Anyway, I had an art project to finish. Just a little bit. But I wasn't allowed to, by my mother and grandad (what's he doing in my house? Haven't a clue). So half an hour passed as we tried to sort this whole mess of me trying to finish my art project and them holding me up. Then we tried to get it all in the car, almost failing. When we got to skool, my mother wouldn't let me go. Kept calling me back. 10 minutes passed. I tried to leave, but then she bloody started following me into skool!! Then, I realised it was half-way through the first lesson. I was like, "B0LL0X!!" And then I came into skool. And that's why I was late.

You believe me, right?
