Dear Die-ary...

Is it me, or do they look very similar? Or maybe all Germans look like that XD No, I kid.

I shall start a conspiracy dedicated to their similarities. :O

Mind you, yesterday my parents said (because of my eyes) I look like Peter Lorre. Now if that's not scary, I don't know what is.

(I don't look like Peter Lorre... *mutters and walks off*)

By the way I had a lovely 18th birthday ^_^ Thanks to all!

Anyway, yes, I'm VERY pissed off with the Sky box. I set up a recording of a film that I desperately wanted to see for a long time (it has one of my favourite actors of all time in it, Peter Lorre), and knew I couldn't be able to easily obtain a copy in the shops. The film was "Arsenic and old lace", and I had a minor heart attack when I looked in the TV guide and saw it was on TCM. So I set up a recording immediately. It was on at late night, so I trusted Sky to keep going through the night so the recording would be ready for me to watch today.

Playing it back, I got black. Nothing but black for a solid 2 hours.

And I found out why: Sky box decided to 'save energy and be helpful and switch itself off'.

My reaction at the time:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA(etc)RGH

So, I'm not very happy about that.

(By the way, yes, Peter Lorre is my favourite actor at the moment. Don't ask me why. My other favourite actors are Lon Chaney and Alec Guinness, so from that I think you can deduce that I have very strange tastes.)

Any-dang-way, back to my birthday.

As some are aware, as they were actually there (...) I had a paaaarrrrrrrrrty before my actual 18th. It was monster-themed raaaaaaaarrrrrrrgh. And I think it went OK? Everyone seemed to be enjoying the party, and the food, but not the fact that my ma wanted pictures and film of everyone.

I would post pictures but I am both lazy and the owner of a decrepit computer.

There was also fireworks and sparklers which, if I must be honest, I had no idea that this was planned so this was a surprise to me and the guests. (Although I had worked it out when I smelt burning coming from the back garden). And, Jasper was terrified of everybody.

Come the actual birthday, I GOT A LAPTOPZOMG. In fact I got a Vista, which everyone was telling me things like, "Never get a Vista, they're crap" but when I got the damned thing, I thought, "Holy crap. This laptop rocks. The first thing I did on it was install The Sims 2, the second thing was play around with the built-in webcam, and the third was scream at the 'Magic Parrot' [on the kid's playground thing.. shut up] which repeats back everything you say in an annoying voice.

The only problem is, internet not working on it at the moment. That is a problem. Hopefully only temporary.

Et cetera, et cetera.

In short, I am now 18 years old, TA-DA. And I have exams to do so less egocentricity, and more bloody maths.
